I knew I wanted a combo of cardio and strength on Sunday, but didn't have a lot of time to mess around. So I grabbed my dumbbells and headed towards the treadmill. I parked myself there for 45 minutes and got my heart racing through this workout! The time actually went by fast! This workout mixes 2 min fast run intervals with 1 minute strength intervals for cardio and muscular endurance.
Warmup: 5 min jog on treadmill.
2 min run at 6.2 mph
1 minute dumbbell squat press
2 min run at 6.4 mph
1 minute dumbbell burpees
2 min run at 6.6 mph
1 minute dumbbell in and out bicep curls
2 min run at 6.8 mph
1 min renegade rows with pushup
2 min run at 7.0 mph
1 min reverse lunge front raise
2 min run at 7.2 mph
1 min skier swings
2 min run at 7.4 mph
1 minute close squat with lateral raise
2 min run at 7.6 mph
1 minute dumbbell shoulder press
2 min run at 7.8 mph
1 minute squats
5 minute recovery jog on treadmill.
With transition between equipment and with rest, this took me the 45 minutes & got me sweating!
